Mutant Chronicles Wiki

Luna is Earth's moon and the home of the City of Luna. Orbiting the dead planet, Luna has become the hub of humanity. Partially terraformed, grav-plated, and domed in parts, Luna is the greatest city mankind has ever known, and has engulfed almost the entire surface of the moon. It is known to locals simply as ‘the City’; only off-worlders call it Luna City. All of the corporations have major facilities in the City, but only Cybertronic bases its headquarters here. In the Dark Legion time period Luna City is home to The Brotherhood Cathedral, centre of worship for the entire solar system. Luna City is officially divided into five vast sectors: The Ancient Heart, Perimeters, Industrial Districts, Spaceports, and the Outskirts. Alongside the official districts are two more: The Undercity and Spaceship Graveyard. There are plenty of hidden corners within Luna City where the Dark Symmetry can take root.

The Perimeters contain many of the Industries and Star Ports of Luna, while the Fringes are home to Cardinal Durand XVI Interstellar Port and Ryker's Mountain (a maximum security prison). The remainder of the surface land is comprised of Brotherhood Farms

The Mines below the surface city are actually leftover excavations from early settlers' subterranean constructions to protect against meteorites. These catacombs are now used for underground train lines, dump shafts, sewers, and ventilation. Thousands of entrances have been plugged, but the old mines are still there providing shelter to the homeless and things too horrid to describe.

Both the Underground and commuter trains are the major means of transportation. While cheap and fairly reliable, it can also be dangerous and very slow: a trip from the city center to one of the remote ports can take up to two days. The most important junction for Imperial's Great Circle Lines is the Blackhouse Underground Station. This complex ties the North, Green, and Great Circle Lines together where thousands of passengers enter, exit and change every hour. The station is close to both the Reading Palace and the Bauhaus Twin Towers.
